My name is Rachel Fischer. I am currently studying at Dominican University in River Forest, IL for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. I have a BFA in Fine Art from Columbia College in Chicago, IL. I am an artist and musician. After having started a blog about food allergies at autoallergic.wordpress.com, with more followers than I thought I would have, I decided to add a second blog about dieting. Actually, I have never chosen to consciously go on a diet, but there are times when I am scared that I will gain too much weight, since obesity does run in my family. I am 5 ft tall and weigh 120 lbs. At my lightest in my adult life I weighed only 100 lbs. and regularly exercised. Now, I really do not feel like exercising much and know that a lot of people out there do not feel like exercising, whether it be because they do not have time, or for another health reason. There are so many diets out there which advocate a lot of different ways to succeed in losing weight, from being vegetarian or vegan to the low carb diets that advocate eating meat and not carbohydrates. I really do not like the idea of even bothering with any of these specifications, and as someone with food allergies, being a vegetarian or vegan is not an option. I eat meat twice a day. In general, I advocate not worrying too much about what you eat but controlling the size of your portions so you do not overeat. So, this blog will basically record what I eat, along with the amount of exercise that I do have, as a sample plan of a person eating a normal diet without thinking about dieting on purpose. I will attempt to record portion sizes in as detailed a manner as possible. However, since I do have food allergies and not much time to cook, I have to warn you that my diet can be very boring.
